Hotel Angleterre

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 5 days at the beginning of August. It was a booking at midnight as we'd been badly let down by a guest house elsewhere - after a 10hr trip from Kent to Cherbourg. Emmanuel looked after us late that night, and together with Eunice made sure we were okay throughout our stay. The hotel is a 2 star and being redecorated currently, some painting needed. We didn't sample the breakfasts, but the local shops and restaurants are very close by. It can be lively/noisy at night but we found it tolerable. Local people live in the surrounding streets, and you can park for free nearby or a short walk away. We requested a kettle to make our own tea in the morning, and Eunice and co were kind enough to supply a box of tea and some milk at no charge. Our room was small ish but entirely adequate. The double bed was firm, but due to my bad back I was able to use a sofa bed which suited me much better - provided by Emmanuel. The cleaning staff were very friendly too - I can't speak highly enough of the staff. The hotel was good for what we needed and I would recommend it to anyone who is not fussy and not looking for a plush room/experience (go for more stars if you are). We had poor weather, but the local restaurants, Cite de la Mer, museums and harbour made for a great experience for us, and we are so grateful to Emmanuel and Eunice for their great service.

Très bon endroit pour un court séjour. Salle de bain excellente. Cela dit l’acoustique n’est pas le top non plus mais reste convenable ! Je n’y étais que pour dormir et il ne m’en fallait pas plus ! Le prix demeurant ultra raisonnable en plus de cela.

Rapport qualité prix correct. Cependant mauvaise isolation intérieure et salle de bain mal équipée (distributeur-savon vide, côté douche), accessoire permettant d’opter pour baignoire ou douche supprimé. Le petit déjeuner est basique mais correct avec un pain et des viennoiseries de bonne qualité. Salle de PD petite donc risque d’attente…
